An Autumn Dance.

This capture was made on the last day of March 2018 and is looking across the head of Lake Pukaki as a storm that had already swallowed Mt Cook envelops the Gamack Range. As I stood there a warm nor’west wind was blowing across me from left to right. Just a couple of kilometres to the right of frame was a clear and calm scene, seemingly almost oblivious to what was coming. But that too was soon to change. I felt like I was a spectator of a glorious show of creation as the clouds, light and rain danced across this mountain range, changing from moment to moment. Once I had made a capture I was happy with, I just stood there in the bright sunlight and enjoyed the show unfolding in front of me.

Sometimes it really IS all about the clouds.
